It's a new year and we're starting it off with our FREE Doggie Photo Booth at Kennedy Park in Coconut Grove on Saturday, January 11th 2-6pm. This story is one of the reasons we do this.

Prudence, The Story of:
The truth is that we didn't choose Prudence, Prudence chose us. She was
one of 7 little black pups that were abandoned outside of Pet
Supermarket in February of 2010 (when we were having the nights that ice
was building up on the windshields of the cars). The poor pups were
left in a cardboard box with no food or water and a raggedy towel to
keep them "warm". They had not even opened their eyes yet. A friend of
mine, Cattie (a fellow bleeding heart) decided to take them home and
nurse them to health. After a few weeks, she reached out to me to see if
I could help her by "fostering" one or two of the pups. When she
arrived at our home, she let out the sea of tiny black pups on the
living room floor to a very excited toddler (Tyler). Prudence,
immediately broke from the pack and made her way over to me. Determined
not to get attached, I placed her back with her brothers & sisters,
where she broke off again and made her way to a very skeptical Todd.
With one hand, he picked her up and examined her like Martha Stewart
would examine a fig. With a half smile, he looked into her tiny brown
eyes and said "so I guess
you're the one, huh?". Ever since then, she has been a member of the
family. And, I'm proud to say that calling out "Dear Prudence, won't you
come out to play?" still has not gotten old.
